भारतको संघीय सरकारले उसिना चामलको निर्यातमा २० प्रतिशत कर लगाएको अधिकारीहरूले बताएका छन् । आन्तरिक बजारमा पर्याप्त आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित गर्दै मूल्यवृद्धि नियन्त्रण गर्ने उद्देश्यले अर्थ मन्त्रालयले उक्त आदेश जारी गरेको हो ।
निर्देशन अनुसार, निर्यात शुल्क तत्काल कार्यान्वयन गरी अक्टुबर ३१ सम्मका लागि प्रभावकारी रहनेछ । यो नयाँ प्रतिबन्धसँगै भारतले अब सबै प्रकारका गैर-बासमती चामलमा प्रतिबन्ध लगाएको छ, जुन भारतको कुल चामल निर्यातको लगभग २५ प्रतिशत हो । यसको निर्यातमा २० प्रतिशत भन्सार दर लागू गर्दा विश्वव्यापी मूल्यमा थप वृद्धि हुने सम्भावना छ ।
गत महिना अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय मुद्रा कोष (आईएमएफ) ले भारतले चामल निर्यातमा लगाएको प्रतिबन्धले विश्वव्यापी मुद्रास्फीतिमा प्रभाव पार्ने र बाँकी विश्वमा खाद्य पदार्थको मूल्यमा उतारचढाव बढाउने बताएको र एक निश्चित श्रेणीको चामलको निर्यातमा लगाइएको प्रतिबन्ध हटाउन आग्रह गरेको थियो ।
